4/6 - William's Video Chosen To Air on mtvU's The Freshman - VOTE NOW!

So I'm writing to you from Texas, just arrived here late last night after an 11-hour van ride. Had some coffee already, did a load of laundry in the hotel machines, and am feeling rather well rested. I'd say the start of a pretty good day.

I have just been informed of some very, very cool news and I wanted to reach out to you my friends with it, and to sincerely ask for your help. As some of you probably know a little bit ago we made a video for "If You Would Come Back Home," off of the 'Sparrow' record; a collection of songs that are extremely close to me personally. I've just been told that starting today, Monday April 6TH mtvU has chosen the video to begin airing on their show The Freshman. Nothing like this has ever happened to me, so I'm basically pretty overwhelmed right now. The only way the video will receive continued airplay is if it gets the most votes. I’d be honored if you’d take a moment of your time to go to The Freshman site and vote now. You can watch the video and vote HERE! The contest ends Friday at midnight EST.

I hesitate to ask for help in this because I am already only here and able to make music due to the incredible kindness and generosity of all of those who have given so much to support me and this project. To you who have given a friend a mixtape with one of my songs, or sent an email suggesting a listen, picked up an album, or pulled someone along to a live show, I seriously cannot thank you enough. And it is with humility and sincerity that I come to you asking for help again.

I made the 'Sparrow' record because it was something I needed to do to get through the darkest period I've ever known. I still don't fully understand what the qualities are in music that makes it something curative and healing, but I do know that it works. And I am overwhelmed and honored everyday by those who let me know they share understanding and connection with these words and melodies. My hope is that everyday the people that need to hear these songs will hear them, in the same way that I needed to make them. If you believe in these songs as I do, I ask for your help once again. I know I'm an underdog here, and I probably always have been. But with the loyalty you've shown me, that hasn't ever really stopped these little songs from finding their way. Please know how much I appreciate all you do.

P.S. As a lot of you might also know, I had the honor of very recently joining up with Downtown Records' imprint Mercer Street, who will officially be releasing "The Sparrow and The Crow" Tomorrow, Tuesday April 7th. This is the first time that my music will have a wide release and it will even now be available at retailers for the first time. For someone who started out printing out CD-Rs on his home computer and glueing together cardboard CD holders, you could say I'm extremely honored to be with such a wonderful group of people, and to even get to this point. So if you've been waiting for a chance to own a physical copy of the album, now is your chance. And please do spread word to anyone you think might enjoy or be well-served by the music. William will be in LA later this week performing on the 28th with Madeleine Peyroux and then to San Diego for a headline show but he'll return to LA on Monday, March 30th for a very special and intimate private show where Rosi Golan will also perform. There won’t be any tickets sold for this show but we’re giving a handful of fans a chance to attend and be part of it all.  Here’s what you need to do:

- You need to be available on March 30th at 6p, be 21+ and be able to be in LA

- You need to send an email tomorrow, Wed, March 25th no earlier then noon EST to wfmgmt@brickwallmgmt.com with your name, email address and contact info (cell phone pls).

We’ll be selecting the winners on a first come first served basis so make sure you get your emails in at the stroke of noon EST (those emails coming in before noon will not be eligible).  Winners will be notified with complete details by email on Thurs, March 27th.
