* Update From William!

Hey Guys,

I'm writing from inside the vehicle that will basically be my home for the next 6 weeks.  At the moment it's very clean, organized, and completely void of any discernible odors.  Nearly all of that will probably change before this trip is over.  Hopefully later than sooner.

It's good to be back on the road after quite a while off.  The sun has been shining everyday so far, and even though it's cold, it's very clear that Spring is right around the corner.  A fact that seems to be putting most I come into contact with in brighter than usual moods.  Either that or my face causes smiles wherever it goes.  Smiles or fear.  Mostly smiles.  Still some fear, though.  It's getting harder to leave Illinois, but I'm beginning to understand the therapeutic qualities of cross country driving that Kerouac  and other like-minded individuals seemed to understand so well.  I don't know if I like or hate the feeling of forgetting what state I'm in every once and a while.  But the displacement and confusion aside, you just can't substitute the feeling of meeting with great people and seeing the nooks and crannies of this beautiful place.  

Last night's show was the first of the tour, and we had the pleasure of being hosted in one of the most picturesque towns I've yet seen: Pepin, Wisconsin (Pop. 828).  It was genuinely such a great group of people, many of which have been following and supporting the tunes for some time.  It definitely felt like the right way to start things this year.  Even though we're only at the start of this run, I'm learning that it always ends up going by far faster than you think it will.  I still need to figure out how to slow some of these things down to enjoy them fully.  

I love seeing you at the shows.  I don't imagine you know what that means to me.  I'll make sure to update again from the road soon.  See you out there,

* Musings From The Beard!

Hey just wanted to give an update on things as of late.  Been rather busy in the last few weeks, coming off of a nice, slowly paced start to 2009.  Got some recuperation from last year's traveling, got some writing done, and somehow made it nearly to spring already.  I returned home from a great week-long trip to NYC just a couple days ago, had the pleasure of hanging out with some wonderful friends and got to meet some more amazing people who I'm proud to now be on the same team as.  Every time another milestone of sorts is reached it makes me sincerely wonder how I got to this point.  I suspect we all have those "stock taking" moments from time to time.  As this project has grown from me working away alone for hours and hours in a small and dark upstairs room in Pennsylvania for the enjoyment and challenge of creating songs only a few years ago, I'm reminded of how much I owe those who have looked after me from early on and still continue to do so.  And I'm reminded even more that the initial feelings of enjoyment and creativity which come from crafting music need to always remain at the forefront.  

To those that joined us for the live taping in NYC last week,, thank you so much for being a part of them.  Those were a first for me and it was very meaningful to have so many that care about the music there with me.  And for those that weren't able to be there, we'll find a way to release those live songs at some point.

For now I'll be getting ready to head out on our upcoming tour. Got some strings to change and a bag to pack.  Can't wait to see you guys out there soon. Stay well and talk soon.
