4/26 – “Amsterdam” Out Now!

“Amsterdam” is the first song I am releasing off of my upcoming record produced by my longtime friend and collaborator Marshall Altman, who made The Sparrow and the Crow with me over 15 years ago and helped turn that album into one of my favorite things I’ve ever made. We’ve put some of that same magic and emotion into “Amsterdam”, so I hope you enjoy it and I can’t wait for you to hear all of what’s to come.

“Amsterdam” is about fighting the natural process by which our minds relegate often experienced pieces of information (a loved one, a beautiful city, a breathtaking vista) to the subconscious level and promising to always keep the person we care about the most in the foreground of our perception. Just as one can lose the wonder of a beloved place, our most treasured loved ones can also become mere background figures to us. Listen to the song here.
